Why review books?

Thursday’s Bite

a blog where I giveaway romance

Yes, it’s that time again! Time for all you readers to read and review spicy, new adult, paranormal romance with a fairy tale twist. I’m giving away review copies all Labor Day weekend  of my latest novella,  Goldi and the Bear . Leave a comment to enter to win!

Why should you read and review books? Lots of reasons. Did you know that most people find out about new authors and new books from word of mouth? Yes, that’s right, if you tell a friend about a book they are more likely to go out and buy it. Why? Because they trust your opinion.

And many people also trust the opinion of people who post reviews online at sites like Amazon and Goodreads. So how does this help you?

When you spread the word about books you like then they sell better, more people buy them and review them, and the authors are able to write more of the same types of books. Want more of the books you love? Give them great reviews and they will succeed.

Never left a review? Not sure how to do it? Elaine Cougler, author of The Loyalist’s Wife,  has a fantastic post on exactly that. Check it out HERE.

Want to know some other places besides Amazon and Goodreads to leave reviews? Librarything and Shelfari are two more review sites, but other sites that are great are anyplace the book is on sale. For instance, AllRomance and Barnes and Noble are two additional places you can leave reviews. And if you purchase a book on Smashwords, you can leave a review there too.

Have you ever reviewed a book on a book sale site? How about a review site? How do you find out about new books?

All the books I’m giving away today are e-books and are given away with the idea that you will read them and give them an honest review. There are no strings attached. You must be 18 or older to enter. Contest ends September 3rd at 12:01 am Eastern Standard Time. If you would like the opportunity to sample my writing, please leave a comment and try out one of my novellas. You’ll get a taste of spicy, new adult, paranormal romance…with a fairy tale twist.

goldi and the bear by jessica aspen

Goldi Lycan’s life is falling apart. Her dad’s gone wild wolf, her house is under threat of foreclosure, and the only one she can turn to for help is her high school boyfriend whose heart she crushed.
Goldi’s father is missing. She needs his signature and the money he’s hidden or the bank will foreclose and sell to a buyer she suspects is her ex-boyfriend, whose heart she crushed in high school. Zeke has a secret. He’s never stopped loving Goldi or forgotten their steamy nights together and he’s determined to make her pay. When Goldi is injured in a Rocky Mountain blizzard she’s forced to take shelter in Zeke’s empty house. But look out! When Zeke arrives home to find a naked she-wolf in his bed, all hell will break loose.

Twisted Tales: Come Into the Woods

Goldi and the Bear is book three in my spicy, new adult, fairy tale romance series, but it stands alone. If you like it, come on back and check out Little  Red Riding Wolf and Snow and the Seventh Wolf, books one and two. And of course, when you read books you love, go review them.
